Who will be NEXT?

The Parkland Soccer Club, is very proud to announce we will be having a German Id Summer Camp with Schächter Sports out of Germany, an affiliated academy partner to the Bundesliga Club of 1.FSV Mainz 05.

Unlike the relationship that most USA soccer clubs have with European teams, this relationship has no a marketing value for the European organization – the key word is OPPORTUNITY!  This collaboration contains a variety of possibilities for American youth players - and it has been primarily established to improve the soccer development of PSC players and coaches and to open up real opportunities for PSC players to play in Europe. This camp will be organized by Roger Thomas, PSC Director and David Müller,  This camp will be organized by Roger Thomas, PSC Director and David Müller, who is the Director of International program, SCHÄCHTER SPORTS.

PSC has always been player focused.  We are a soccer club first and foremost and our commitment to player development is absolute.  The camp with Schächter Sports is another step towards our vision of creating a “true club”, one that gives every PSC players who wants to play at the highest level a genuine opportunity to do so by providing the best possible pathway from a preparation and opportunity standpoint.

The PSC German ID Camp will be held from August 5-9, 2019 and is open to PSC and Non-PSC players.  More information to follow! SAVE THE DATE!

League Highlights

League Changes

Highlights and key changes to the structure include the enhancements to our National Premier League (NPL) Teams program.

The Florida National Premier League (FNPL) gave us platform across the state to compete against other top clubs. Two years ago we only had two PSC teams accepted and approved for the FNPL (2005 and 2006 PSC Red boys); and this past season we had 9 PSC teams participating in Florida National Premier League.

Due to the on-going PSC team success in the league each season, for the upcoming 2019-2020, our PSC teams first and second teams from U9 through U18 will have the chance to participate in a higher division and add more teams in the regionalize development league which is also sanctioned by US Club soccer.

We are excited as a club to finally have pathway from U9 though U19 for both red & white teams to participate in a Regional and National League platform.

Under these healthy competition program upgrades, our PSC boys and girls will enhance their training model by implementing a bi-weekly functional (position specific) training night throughout next season.

"New" Player Id Sessions

PSC will hold NPL Id sessions in the coming weeks for interested players outside of the club are assessed to make the teams for the 2019-2020 season.  Id sessions will be conducted within the team session and are by Coach invite only.

What's NEW for 2019-2020

Technical LeadershipZone 1-2-3

With growth of the club we believe it’s time to delegate the leadership responsibilities across the club by promoting from within the PSC Coaching Staff.

For the 2019-2020 Season we will divide the technical structure of the club into 3 Zones with three technical leaders to implement our full time directors curriculum and technical strategy.  The benefit is more oversight since zone roles would be delegated.  Further information will be communicated.

Zone 1: Ages U9-U11 Boys and Girls Fundamental

Leaders: Patrick Darby USSF 'E' & Jon Nacimento USSF ‘D’

Fitness Training

Performance programs to make better fitness assessments to help our players work on becoming quicker, faster and stronger.

Director of Goalkeeper Training Methods

We plan on keeping our current keeper trainers and want to enhance their knowledge by getting someone with additional tactical knowledge of GK to further improve tactical development of the goalkeepers.

We are looking to add additional goalkeeper tactical training next season with workshops to improve team coaches understanding of how to train goalkeepers writhing team training. We are also looking to add a third GK coach to divide the responsibilities in the technical zone, so there would be three GK trainers.

Video Feedback

Another, improvement we are hoping to implement more regularly is the video analysis component where several games could be filmed and analyzed with our staff and players. Some of our teams have used videos feedback over the last two seasons and seen huge benefits and impact with their player’s tactical and positional development. We are learning more and more about the importance of video feedback and we feel it vital that more of our PSC teams adapt using video for learning for PSC players and teams.

The program focuses on the rules of the game, individual ball control techniques, principles of play and team tactics. At each training session, approximately 30 minutes is devoted to learning fundamental concepts and techniques and 60 minutes is devoted to actual game play.  In this way, we are able to create a learning environment that is fun for the kids and allows them to learn the game by playing the game.
