PSC Featured Coach: Luis Valente

The first highlighted coach of the month can be described in many words….’Awesome’ is one of those words…Around the fields, Coach Luis always has something to sat and will always brighten up everyone’s day if you talk to him.  Coach Luis has gone the extra mile with his teams (2006 Boys Red and 2006 Girls Red) to educate them on their game knowledge through watching and analyzing the game in a classroom setting.  He also initiated a U12 special non-soccer Saturday in a Bowling team building event. Players from both Boys and Girls teams got together and had a morning of fun with their teammates, families and friends as the team focused on the development of social skills and interactions that will strengthen team chemistry and camaraderie.

Building relationships is a key tool both on and off the pitch, so we are excited that this event was so well received by both parents and players.  Some players and their parents had great scores, not so much coach Luis who apparently though he was in a soccer game and kept playing the ball "away" from the pins.  The club wants to thank all the parents and specially Jenn Campanella and Mariana Freundt-Thurne for putting together this great event.

Featured Player

Ava Trachtenburg #3

Ava is a member of our U15 Girls Red Team and this month’s featured player.   Ava has an amazing work ethic that she brings to practice and games every time she steps onto the field. She has lead the defensive line with her mental aggressiveness, speed and stops…..Not only is Ava a fierce defender for Parkland Soccer Club, she was voted female athlete of the year for her middle school, made county in three track events and has numerous recognitions for her artwork.  Pictured to the right is her drawing of her Parrott, Suni.  Keep up the great work Ava!

Uniforms: All players should have ordered new PSC red, white and navy jerseys, shorts and socks. Please wear all navy to training.  Look your best on and off the field by wearing your PSC Spirit Wear.  Visit our on-line store at to get your gears!  These are fan favorites!
